JAPAN SOCIETY - HANAMI EVENT

UCL, SOAS, UCA Japanese societies and LJSN are getting together to have a joint Hanami Event!

Quick explanation:
Hanami -花見- is a Japanese term for 'flower viewing'. It's a long standing tradition of welcoming spring and appreciating the fleeting beauty of nature, for which in this case is cherry blossoms. People gather under cherry blossom trees to eat, drink, catch-up with people, and most of all, enjoy the end of winter and the coming of spring.

Since this is an open event, you are more than welcome to invite people to share this experience with us and to spread the joy of this fantastic cultural event!

Bring food and drink and prepare to share.
We'll post up the official location in Regents Park a week before the event.

[In case of rain] If there is a forecast for rain, we will postpone it from Saturday 30th to Sunday 31st of March. However, if both days are predicted to rain, we will have to cancel it.

As we're having a picnic in a park, please try to keep in mind that we'll be in a public space - so be respectful to those around us and clean up after yourselves. Keep it chill and relatively conservative, we'd prefer not to get blamed or build a bad reputation from an unfortunate incident.

花見イベント＠Regents Park

3月30日に、Regents Parkにてロンドン大学、SOAS大学、UCA、LJSN主催の花見イベントを開催いたします。日本では春といえばお花見－イギリスにもその文化を少しでも広げたいと思い、今回のイベントを計画いたしました。

食事、お酒などは各自持ち込みでピクニック気分を味わいながらお花見をするというやんわりとしたイベントです！

どなたでもご参加可能なイベントで、参加費などもありません。できるだけ多くの方々とともにイギリスの桜を楽しみたいと一同思っておりますので、ぜひともお気軽に足をお運びください！

イベント開催の一週間ほど前に、Regents Parkのどのあたりに集まるかなどの詳細を改めて投稿いたします。

当日の天気予報があいにくの雨だった場合、イベントは翌日の日曜日に変更いたします。また、もし土曜日・日曜日の両日ともに雨ということでしたら、残念ながらイベントは中止いたしますことをご理解ください。

Regents Parkという公共の場で行うイベントなので、ご参加される方々にはくれぐれもあまり羽目を外さないようお願い申し上げます！公園の他の利用者への配慮、ゴミの回収など協力願います。
